The first day I saw you,

You loved travelling.

I was proud of you.

The first month I saw you,

You loved singing.

I was happy for you.

The first year I saw you,

You loved cooking.

I was so impressed with you.

The following year I saw you,

You were changing.

I was excited for you.

The first month I saw you,

You were smoking.

I was worried about you.

The following month I saw you,

You were dying.

I was sad for you.

The last time I saw you,

You were gone.

I didn’t want this for you.

I wrote this with a particular goal in mind. With all these changes in people’s lives, I wanted to write about the worst of them all because it is something one shouldn’t go through.
