Love.

A somewhat elusive emotion. Elusive in the way where you may feel it but the other person may not or you aren’t sure if it actually is love. But it is something people want.

A pretty close friend of mine is in love with this person. He’s sure of this but doesn't know what the other person feels. Still, he is willing to do almost anything for her and I know this to be true because I have seen it in him. I know this through the way he talks about her, the way he worries about her and also through the way he knows he’ll be able to keep her happy. He’s willing to wait for her. For as long as possible.

Please don’t bother asking who it is, I am not telling.

Love, in my opinion, is both a boon and a curse but that depends upon the person you love. Loving a person has its compromises but it shouldn't cost who you are. If it does, I am sorry but that is not good for you. You shouldn't compromise who you are and what you want just because the other person wants it. I believe you should accept each other for who they are, even with their flaws. Sure, some flaws can be major then you can both work together to fix them or live with them.

But sometimes, you just aren’t meant for each other. That happens a lot more than you think. We may be considered adults but not many of us know what it means to be one. You will as though the world around you is crumbling. You will begin to blame yourself. You will hurt yourself, staying in that hole of self-hatred and despair. But, as a person, we tend to do that.

We strive to find love in any shape and form, only to find it isn’t what we believed it was.

What a line. If only it were that easy. If only.

Thanks for reading.
