One last time, Mr Bond.

The end of an era. ‘No Time to Die’ has been released and it is the last outing for Daniel Craig as the classy spy. I have been a fan of Bond since I was a kid. My dad introduced it to me and I have seen almost all of the movies. There are so many great spy movies such as ‘The Man from U.N.C.L.E.’ or the Mission: Impossible series, but the Bond series is just a class of its own.

I write this article while listening to songs that were released with the movies and I feel so nostalgic. I have literal goosebumps. There have been many actors for James Bond but we grew up with Daniel Craig. His first appearance as Bond in ‘Casino Royale’ is one to remember. You could feel the tension in the room where the game was happening.

Daniel Craig’s version of Bond was quite different from the other versions before him. His is more gritty, dark and realistic. He didn’t rely on gadgets too much, unlike the previous ones and the villains were just amazing. Well, almost all the villains were amazing. ‘Quantum of Solace’ wasn’t a good movie but ‘Skyfall’ made up for it.

Personally, ‘Skyfall’ is the best of the series, followed by ‘Casino Royale’ and ‘Spectre’. The music in ‘Skyfall’ was perfect, accompanied by Adele singing the title song. I found ‘Skyfall’ to be very grounded and dark and I liked how broken Bond was in the movie. It really showed the human side of him. But the villain was just amazing. Creepy and weird as hell but he did manage to do the most damage to MI6 and also managed to accomplish a good chunk of his mission. Javier Bardem’s portrayal as the villain Silva was a masterpiece. Come on, there is no way you guys did not feel weird when he removed his teeth. That scene was messed up.

Now I haven't yet seen ‘No Time to Die’. Reviews say that it is a great movie and an even better end to this portrayal of Bond. If you were reading this, thinking that it is a review, well you are wrong. I’m just talking about how I feel on this matter. But we now look towards the future. A new era, a new Bond. There are so many potential actors who could succeed Daniel Craig. Many people say Henry Cavill or Armie Hammer and I agree with them.

They could be great as Bond. But Henry Cavill did come up and say that he would like to come in the Bond series as a villain. Now that is actually a brilliant idea. After his portrayal as August Walker in ‘M:I - Fallout’ was great, he could be a great villain for Bond.

But till that happens, we must savour our last moments for the first time with Daniel Craig. He has been the best Bond we have ever had and it is sad to see him leave, but all good things come to an end. Thank you for your service, Commander Bond and we shall see you again soon.

Thanks for reading.
